Main Description

Method of operation

Continuous learning, followed by using the new knowledge, is an important topic in TMap. A way of doing this is to organise evaluation sessions. These sessions are mostly aimed at generating lessons and learning experiences for the future. The subject of evaluation may vary, according to requirements. It may concern the evaluation of the test process, the results of the test, the involvement of the various parties in it, the use of the test infrastructure et cetera. It is important here to clarify how the people involved in the test experience the subject. An evaluation should take place upon completion of the test, but it is advisable also to do this regularly during the test itself. In this way, it is possible to learn continuously and to apply what has been learned. An aid for asking the appropriate questions during an evaluation is the “Evaluation of the test process” checklist.

The test manager creates a final report in the Control phase. This report describes how the test process has performed. It also supplies figures for purposes of future test processes, and the result of the evaluation serves as input here.
